What card games Indian apps actually offer
Card game apps in India usually offer the same small group of games: 13-card rummy, teen patti and andar bahar, often bundled with slots and crash games. The games are old and the rules are well known. What changes from app to app is the format, the fee taken from each table, how bonuses apply, and how quickly you can withdraw.
This guide explains each game in plain terms, how apps package them, and what to check before you play for money.

Rummy formats, teen patti and andar bahar explained
- 13-card rummy: each player gets 13 cards and must arrange them into sequences and sets, including at least two sequences, one of which must be a pure sequence with no joker.
- Points rummy: one deal per game. The loser pays a set rupee value for each point left in hand, up to a cap, usually 80 points.
- Pool rummy: players are eliminated when their score crosses 101 or 201. The last player left wins the pool.
- Deals rummy: a fixed number of deals, such as two or three, played for chips. The player with the most chips at the end wins.
- Teen patti: a three-card betting game. Hands rank from trail (three of a kind) down to high card.
- Andar bahar: a dealer opens one card, then deals to two sides, andar and bahar. You bet on which side gets a matching rank first.
- Platform fee: the share of each entry fee the app keeps. It is sometimes called a rake.
Who this card games guide helps
This is for adult players in India who know cards from home but are new to playing on an app, or who are comparing apps before choosing one. If you want the full rummy rules first, read the 13-card rummy rules guide.
Six steps before playing card games for money
Before you play any card game on an app, work through these steps.
- Install from the official source. Follow how to check whether an APK is safe before opening any app.
- Learn on free tables. Practice tables show you the interface, the timer and how the app handles a dropped connection.
- Read the table details. Tap the info icon on a table. It should show the format, point value or entry fee, number of players and the prize.
- Check the platform fee. If an app does not show it, the prize shown is your only clue. Compare the prize with the total of entry fees.
- Set a budget. Decide in rupees what you can lose this week and stop there. Our responsible gaming page has tools for this.
- Test a small withdrawal. Before playing larger amounts, complete KYC and withdraw the minimum to see how the app pays.
Age, state rules and KYC to sort out first
You need to be 18 or older, live in a state where the game is allowed for money, and have an Android phone that meets the app’s minimum version. Most apps ask for KYC with PAN or Aadhaar before your first withdrawal. Learn the basic rummy declarations first: a wrong declaration in points rummy usually costs the full 80 points. The points rummy rules, pool rummy rules and deals rummy rules pages cover each format.
Points, pool, teen patti and one real app lobby
Points rummy at ₹1 per point. You lose a deal with 32 points in hand. You pay ₹32 to the winner, and the app takes its platform fee from the winnings. If you drop at the start, you usually pay 20 points instead. That makes points rummy the format where knowing when to drop matters most.
Pool rummy 101. Six players pay an entry fee each. Every deal adds points to the losers’ scores. Reach 101 and you are out. A long game can last 30 minutes, so check your time before joining.
Teen patti. A round takes under a minute. You can play blind or seen, and seen players bet double. Because rounds are so quick, losses add up faster than in rummy.
How one app packages them. When we checked Rumble Rummy on 6 October 2026, its games were Rummy, Teen Patti, Slots, Aviator and Jackpot Lotto, and the lobby was split into Tournament, Salon Room, Multiplayers and Slot. We did not find andar bahar in that list. The deposit minimum was ₹10, the withdrawal minimum ₹100 with KYC required, and the ₹199 sign-up bonus was a cash bonus that cannot be withdrawn. Deposited money had to be played once before withdrawal. See Rumble Rummy games for details, or download Rumble Rummy to see the lobby yourself.
Where card games on apps cost players more than expected
Card games are simple. The money side of card game apps is where people lose more than they meant to.
Table and bonus warning signs in card game lobbies
- Tables that do not show the entry fee, point value or prize before you join.
- Bonus money that cannot be withdrawn, shown in the same balance as your own cash.
- Slots and crash games placed next to rummy in the lobby. They are pure chance and much faster.
- Withdrawals that need a further deposit or a “release fee”.
- Support that answers only through a personal WhatsApp number.
- Apps that ask for SMS, contacts or accessibility permissions.
Habits that turn a small loss into a big one
- Playing for money before you can declare correctly in 13-card rummy.
- Joining high point-value tables to win back a loss.
- Treating a bonus as cash. Read the bonus terms and wagering rules first.
- Ignoring the timer and auto-play settings, which can drop you from a deal.
- Depositing before you know the minimum withdrawal and KYC rules. For Rumble Rummy those are on the Rumble Rummy withdrawal page.
Picking a card game app beyond the cards
Choosing a card game app is mostly about the operator, not the cards.

Card games on Indian apps: questions players search
What card games can you play for money in India?
Indian card game apps mostly offer 13-card rummy, teen patti and andar bahar, often bundled with slots and crash games. Rummy comes in three formats: points, pool and deals. Teen patti and andar bahar are faster and depend much more on luck. Whether you may play for money depends on your state. Start with the 13-card rummy rules.
What is the platform fee in online rummy?
The platform fee is the share of each entry fee the app keeps, sometimes called a rake. Tap the info icon on a table before joining to see the format, entry fee and prize. If an app does not show the fee, compare the prize with the total of entry fees: the gap is what the app keeps. The points rummy rules explain point values.
What is the difference between points, pool and deals rummy?
Points rummy is one deal, and the loser pays a set rupee value for each point left in hand, usually capped at 80 points. In pool rummy you are out once your score crosses 101 or 201. Deals rummy is a fixed number of deals played for chips, and the most chips wins. Each format has its own page, starting with the pool rummy rules.
How much do you lose in points rummy?
You pay the point value times the points left in your hand, up to the cap, usually 80 points. At ₹1 per point, losing with 32 points costs ₹32, and the app takes its platform fee from the winnings. Dropping at the start usually costs 20 points, while a wrong declaration usually costs the full 80. The deals rummy rules compare the other scoring.
Is playing card games for money legal in India?
It depends on your state. Rules for card games played for money differ across Indian states, the Promotion and Regulation of Online Gaming Act, 2025 applies nationwide, and some apps block certain states at sign-up. You must be 18 or older. Check your state's rules before you deposit and read our responsible gaming page. This is not legal advice.
Is teen patti a game of skill or luck?
Teen patti depends much more on luck than rummy. It is a three-card betting game where hands rank from trail, three of a kind, down to high card, and a round takes under a minute. You can play blind or seen, and seen players bet double. Because rounds are so quick, losses add up faster. See which games one app offers on the Rumble Rummy games page.
Can I withdraw bonus money from a rummy app?
Usually not directly. Many apps show bonus cash in the same balance as your own money but limit its withdrawal. In Rumble Rummy, the ₹199 sign-up bonus is a cash bonus that cannot be withdrawn, and deposited money has to be played once before withdrawal. Read the bonus and wagering rules before you deposit. The Rumble Rummy bonus page explains the terms.
